Duplex stainless steel is a blend of both austenitic and ferritic steels, offering a unique combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and workability. UNS31803 and UNS32750 are two common grades of duplex stainless steel, known for their excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. UNS31803: Its chemical composition includes Cr(21–23%), Ni(4.5–6.5%), and Mo(2.5–3.5%). These components endow it with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy also exhibits high yield strength and superior weldability. UNS32750: It contains higher levels of Cr(24–26%), Ni(6–8%), and Mo(3–5%), which enhances its resistance to chloride stress corrosion and provides excellent mechanical properties.
