Stainless steel woven mesh is widely used in screening, filtration, protection, and shielding applications due to its corrosion resistance, high strength, and flexible processing. However, different grades of stainless steel vary significantly in chemical composition, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance, directly affecting service life and project costs.
Magnetic 430 410 stainless steel wire mesh, due to its chromium content, exhibit good corrosion resistance in moderate environments. However, its corrosion resistance is inferior to that of austenitic stainless steel in strong acid, strong chloride, or marine environments. In contrast, 304, 316, and 316L stainless steel wire mesh offers significant advantages in pitting and corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for demanding environments such as the chemical, marine, and food industries.
430/410 (magnetic) is suitable for general industrial screening, grain processing, architectural decoration, low-corrosion filtration, and mechanical protection applications, where moderate corrosion resistance is required but cost control is crucial.

304/316/316L stainless steel wire mesh is suitable for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and hygiene standards, such as chemical, pharmaceutical, offshore platforms, food processing, electronics, and medical filtration. 316/316L performs particularly well in chloride-containing environments.
The 410 series achieves higher hardness after heat treatment, while the 430 emphasizes excellent formability and weldability, making it suitable for filter screens and general industrial mesh. The 304/316 series are known for their excellent toughness, ductility, and tensile strength, making them suitable for applications requiring frequent bending, forming, or subjected to alternating loads.
